Data Tables

Structured data stores for records, with fields, views, and unique constraints

Data Tables are structured, spreadsheet-like data stores inside Arcanflows. They give your agents, workflows, forms, and apps a place to read and write records — customers, tickets, inventory, submissions, anything.

What is a Data Table?

A Data Table is a collection of records with typed fields. Think of it as a database table with a friendly UI: define fields, add records, filter and sort with views, and connect it to the rest of the platform.

Fields

Each field has a type that controls validation and display:

  • Text, Long text, Number, Boolean, Date/DateTime
  • Select / Multi-select (predefined options)
  • Email, URL, Phone, JSON
  • Relation to another table

Unique constraints

A field can be marked unique so the table rejects duplicate values — enforced at write time (via API, forms, workflows, or the UI). This is the correct way to keep, for example, one record per email.

Views

Views are saved filters + sorts + visible columns over the same underlying data:

  • Filter by field values, sort, and choose which columns to show.
  • Create multiple views for different jobs (e.g. "Open tickets", "This week").

Working with Records

  • Add / edit / delete records in the UI.
  • Import from CSV/Excel and export to CSV/JSON.
  • Query via the Data Tables API with filters and pagination.

Using Tables Across the Platform

  • Agents can look up and update records as a tool.
  • Workflows can read/write records as actions.
  • Forms can store submissions directly into a table.
  • Apps bind components (tables, stat cards, charts) to a table for a live UI.

Performance Notes

Data Tables are indexed for filtering and sorting on common field types. For large tables, prefer views with specific filters and paginate queries rather than fetching everything at once.
