Scheduled Tasks
Run agents and workflows automatically on a timezone-aware schedule
Scheduled Tasks run your agents and workflows automatically on a recurring schedule — a daily report, an hourly sync, a weekly digest — without anyone pressing a button.
What is a Scheduled Task?
A Scheduled Task pairs a target (an agent prompt or a workflow) with a schedule (when and how often it runs). When it fires, the platform runs the target, records the outcome, and can deliver the result to you.
Creating a Schedule
- Open Scheduled Tasks (or the Schedule tab on an agent) and create a task.
- Choose the target — the agent + prompt, or the workflow, to run.
- Set the schedule: interval or cron-style, with a timezone.
- Optionally set a max runs limit and result-delivery options.
Timezone-aware scheduling
Schedules are evaluated in the timezone you choose, so "every day at 9:00 AM" fires at 9 AM local time — not UTC. The next run time is shown so you can confirm it's correct before saving.
Seeing What Happened
Every run records a visible outcome:
- Status (completed / failed) and a snapshot of the output.
- The run is threaded into a conversation you can open to read the full exchange.
- Optional notifications and email delivery of the result.
- Run now triggers an immediate run without disturbing the schedule.
Reliability
The fire path is idempotent and downtime-safe:
- The next run time advances via a compare-and-swap before execution, so a hiccup can't cause an infinite refire or a high-availability double-fire.
- If the platform was down when a task was due, the missed slot is handled cleanly (recorded, not replayed forever).
Tips
- Set a timezone explicitly so runs fire when you expect.
- Turn on email/notification delivery for tasks whose output you need to see.
- Use Run now to test a task's prompt/workflow before relying on the schedule.
